Jose De Jesus Rodriguez, better known as "Camaron" (Shrimp), has a unique story. His childhood consisted of working to help his family survive. He came to the United States at the age of 16 and started working at a golf course in Arkansas from dawn to dusk in order to send money back to his family in Mexico.

After working in the United States for seven years, Jose decided to go back to Mexico to caddying at his hometown country club. This is when he finally began to play golf at the age of 24. At Santa Margarita Golf Club, one of the members, "Don Alfonso Vallejo Esquivel," noticed the natural talent that Jose had to play the game and sponsored him to start practicing and playing full time. He turned professional just two years later. It is safe to say that Don Alfonso was right; his pupil turned out to be a great professional player. Jose is an excellent example of perseverance and resilience. After the unexpected death of Don Alfonso, Jose reflects, "I owe him everything I have, I do not know where I would be without him".

Jose is well known for his incredible kindness. One of his long term goals is to create a foundation to help kids. Last year Jose donated more than a Million toys on Children's Day in his hometown of Irapuato, Mexico. Jose says he likes giving away toys because that reminds him of a childhood he never experienced.
